Hey there, I’m Mathew Sanchez—outdoor enthusiast, DIY angler, and proud "Old Dad" behind Old Dad Outdoors. For me, the wild isn’t just a destination; it’s a way of life. From scrambling across my first rope bridge at 4 years old to earning my stripes in the Scouts, the outdoors has always been my playground, classroom, and sanctuary.

Growing up in California, my brothers and I cut our teeth on weekend camping trips, off-road escapades in our family’s trusty "Little Big Foot" mini truck, and fishing trips that turned into lifelong obsessions. Those early adventures taught me more than just survival skills—they instilled a deep respect for nature and a passion for sharing it with others.

Now, I’m passing that legacy on. Whether it’s kayak fishing in the ocean, tackling rugged trails in my Jeep, or crafting handmade lures in my workshop, I’m all about blending tradition with a dash of DIY ingenuity.
